Yes they are hinged.  I have 2 of them and love love love them.

The storage bins are actually very nice. They price of the 4 is certainly appropriate. Really nice size. The lids lock on. The wheels roll smoothly. They are stackable, the lid had a slot for the wheel of a bin to stack evenly. Happy I ordered 4, they will be useful for many items. I plan to use for shoes.

Perfect storage bin.

These are awesome to use take up little space. But when you go to the store it's hard to find a complete one with all the lock handles or with all the wheels even to find the lid. II bought 4 and the last one I bought at one store and had to go to another store to get the lid but over all am happy with the product . Oh and a bit of advise if you buy it on line make sure it's complete because I had to return it twice one had a handle missing and the other a wheel so pay close attention to the Product.

Hard to find at times

I bought these bins to store toys and out-of-season clothes under a twin bed that is placed against a wall. These bins are long and allow me to use up all of the space under the bed. They are sturdy enough for lots of stuffed animals and other toys as well as a lot of clothes. The wheels are a nice feature and do roll on my carpet even when full of toys. The wheels are helpful for my 4- and 5-year old grandchildren to pull them out and put them away. The tops are secured at the ends and fold in the middle. That part seems a bit flimsy and I do expect them to crack along the crease with heavy use (I have only had them for a couple of weeks and we don't get into them every day). The top folds up and back but does not lay flat when folded. This is OK and is just due to the nature of the plastic construction. As long as the bins are not over filled, especially in the middle, the tops stay on okay. I don't need them to stack so that capability is not important to me, but the tops have indentations so that the wheels of the box on top fit snugly into them. The wheels are plastic and secured into the body with a small plastic pin. As long as there is not too much weight over them, I expect that they will hold up.

One thing I don't like about the bins is that they are tapered inwards slightly at the ends for no apparent reason. I am losing out on some storage space and I would prefer that they be more truly rectangular.

I did have to get one bin replaced as the plastic around one wheel was shattered and the corner of the lid was cracked. It looked like it had been dropped on that corner onto a hard surface and both the top and bottom cracked as a result.

Large, sturdy rolling storage bins hold a lot

Other than one of the blue, handles missing (one was popped off and one was not even in the box when I unpacked it), I am pleased with these under the bed storage totes. I have a low, Queen sized bedframe with posts in the middle (underneath) and all four totes still fit. I like that they roll and can open up halfway if needed.

Great Purchase

I already have 2 of these storage bends and I think they are fantastic. Especially the split lid which allow kids to slide it half way from under the bed and only open one side to retrieve toys. Also, the wheels make it role like a Cadillac(very smoothly). 
However; I haven't put anything of substance such as can foods, clothing, books, and such items in to see breaking point. Now, either I received a bad bunch or something, since my four pack of bends are broken on delivery. This sucks because I was so excited to finish organizing my kids room. Ugh!

Product good if not broken.

I received one damaged... not only damaged but missing the snap close handles too.   The only way I can think of this would be possible is that it has already been returned once.   Now, the 4pack is out of stock and Walmart is saying I have to return them and get money back.    Grrrr.  I have a teen that is in the cleaning up and storing away mood and I cant waste this opportunity
