These are the nicest speakers I have seen for a computer... They sound clean even at louder volumes... No tone adjustment but they sound really clean and have a very high volume that still sounds good.... Hey.. they are Bose and they are like half price on sale at the time of this review.. You can't get any better speakers unless you run thru a amp... These plug right into your computer soundboard... The only bad thing I noticed was they only give you a 3 or 4 foot cord to get from the speaker with the volume control to your sound card.... you need a lot more than that if you want to put your speakers in a good spot... so buy a longer cord to give yourself better speaker placement... Otherwise I love these speakers... they are money well spent and will last a lifetime... Stan  in Clinton

Clean Sound at all DBL

Excellent desktop/laptop from Bose. Bought these on Walmart end of year sales . I have used Bose speakers before and like their sounds. These didn't disappoint and I got them for a steal in my opinion. Diffenitly would recommend these speakers to people looking for a decent computer speaker. They are wired but I like old school setups.

Bose speakers what is there to say

I could not answer some of the star categories such as battery life. No batteries to operate these.

An issue I had, the description does not state they are refurbished but when I received the purchase part of the receipt and delivery it states these are remanufactured speakers. I opened my product and the packaging. (Looks like a new box.) When I unpacked the speakers, if they are refurbished I could not tell it. These even had the new smell. The wires and cables were all new. I was going to return these when I saw "refurbished" at the delivery point but after I opened them, if they are not brand new, they do not miss it where I could tell it. The sound is magnficent.

Good product

I recently bought a gaming PC and monitor for my grandson which didn’t come with internal speakers    So, I jumped online and ordered these... less than a week later he is extremely happy to have these as part of his gaming setup.  His room is like walking into a small theater because of the surround sound quality! To get Bose at such a great price and have absolutely NO PROBLEM connecting the speakers PLUS experiencing perfect audio is AWESOME!!!  So glad the MSI monitor I bought didn’t have audio built in otherwise we would have missed out! I might add that the gaming PC is a CyberPower which in itself is amazing so I’m sure it makes a difference what you connect these speakers to as far as what quality the sound you’ll get ... just saying don’t blame the speakers if you hook them to an outdated computer.

Love Those Bose!!

These replaced extremely old Altec Lansing.  The plastic around an input connector gave up.  I needed something with a small footprint to place on a desk near the computer.

When connected to the same laptop the Bose sounded awful.  The sound seemed muffled with no bass, no brilliancy and low volume before distortion.  I thought of returning them, but downloaded the FxSound equalizer instead and played with it.

Night became day!  For me the "Classic Processing" setting ended up being the best starting point, and I reduced the "Bass Boost" somewhat.  It would seem that what made the biggest difference was the "Dynamic Boost".

It became clear that the mechanical parts of the speakers absolutely can produce excellent sound.  It's the way the internal electronic amplifier processes the input signal that causes issues.  I still believe that the twitters of the Altec Lansing were better.  But that company doesn't make that kind of speakers any longer, and the results I finally obtained from the Bose are very satisfying.

The equalizer's digital processing seems to introduce a little lag between the sound and the movement of lips when playing some videos.  Perhaps I'll find a way to solve this issue later, but it's not a major problem.  Classical music sounds really good, even if it can't possibly match my 100 Watt per channel amplifier and large, heavy speakers...

Consider using an equalizer!
